Christy Keahey
Christy Keahey has always been a believer of organ donation ever since she received her first driver’s license and said “I want to be a registered donor.” She has known pretty much most of her life that she wanted to be a nurse and work in health care. Christy became an LPN in 1995 and then obtained her RN in 1999, where she went to work in a critical care unit at a hospital in Tallahassee, Florida. In 2001, she saw an ad for an organ procurement coordinator and found the description of the role fascinating. She applied, got the job, and now she can’t imagine doing anything else. Christy moved into the Legacy of Hope executive director role on June 1, 2023.
