Don Hall

Don Hall is founder of Transition Sarasota, an innovative nonprofit based in Sarasota, Florida, dedicated to rebuilding local community resilience and self-reliance in the face of peak oil, climate change, and economic crisis. He formerly served as the Education and Outreach Coordinator for Transition Colorado, the first official Transition Initiative in North America and a statewide hub for the international Transition movement. There, he organized Transition Colorado's Great Reskilling program, a series of classes and workshops on sustainable living skills. He also designed and taught Deepening Community Leadership, a 16-week course featuring cutting-edge methodologies such as Theory U, Open Space Technology, Spiral Dynamics, and Community Resilience Planning. Don is a certified Permaculture Designer and Consultant and holds a master's in Environmental Leadership from Naropa University and a certificate in Authentic Leadership from Naropa's Marpa Center for Business and Economics.
