Leonard Wheeler

Leonard Wheeler attended Troy University in Alabama on a full football scholarship and received his bachelor's degree in Business Administration. He was drafted by the Cincinnati Bengals in the 3rd round of the 1992 draft. He also spent time with the Minnesota Vikings before he retired with the Carolina Panthers in 2001. Cherishing his long-standing relationship with the NFL, Leonard remains involved as a former player. Leonard is the Former President of the NFLPA Former Players Charlotte Chapter and serves as the only retired player on the financial committee that regulates over 460 financial advisors for all current and former NFL players. Leonard is certified in Emotional Intelligence as a mentor through EQ Mentor, certified in Sports Axiology, working with one of the top coaching companies in the country, Coachville. He is a columnist for Savior Faire magazine, which goes out to more than 40,000 readers. He is also the President of The National Business Association, a networking platform for professional athletes and business professionals (www.TNBA.net.) Leonard serves on the board of directors for the "Youth Commission International" that touches 132 cities in 32 states to better educate our youth. Leonard resides in Charlotte, N.C. with his wife and daughter. He is currently serving his first term on the NFLPA Former Players Board of Directors.
