William T. Hathaway
William T. Hathaway is a former Special Forces soldier who became a peace activist and political journalist. He is the author of RADICAL PEACE: PEOPLE REFUSING WAR, an interview with an Iraqi student whose family was brutalized by American soldiers, who tells how this turned her into a pacifist and her brother into a resistance fighter. This book is a journey along diverse paths of nonviolence, the true stories of people working for peace in unconventional ways. He is active in a group offering support and shelter to soldiers who have refused to be sent to Iraq and Afghanistan. Hathaway sees spirituality as an essential component of a more peaceful world. He currently teaches American studies at the University of Oldenburg in Germany.
