Darry Clack

I began my career Widefield High School in Colorado Springs. The path continued to Arizona State, where I earned all-Pac-10 honors in football in 1984 and ran track also,. Then, it was on to the Dallas Cowboys during the Tom Landry era and a dream-come- true experience. At Widefield High, I played football and ran track and field and was All American. I was a 3 time state champ in track. I set state-record times in the 100 meters, 200 and in the 400. Widefield won team state titles in 1979, 1980 and 1981. Came to Arizona State University to play football and ran track. In 1983, I became the first freshman to lead the Sun Devils in rushing in 30 years. All Pac 10 conference 1984 Dallas selected me in the second round of the 1986 draft, and he played four years with the Cowboys. I left the Cowboys, but tried to stay in the game with brief stops in Cleveland and Toronto, where he played in a Canadian League Grey Cup championship game. He also had a stop in the World League of American Football. Due to knee injuries had to retire from the game After my playing days, I went to University of Texas-El Paso to finish work on undergraduate and advanced degrees. I moved around the business world for a time, but has settled into the banking business for the past 7 years here in Arizona. In 2006 I was selected into the Colorado sports hall of fame
