Morrie Craig

Dr. A. Morrie Craig has spent a good part of his life creating drug-testing programs aimed at eliminating cheating in animal related racing sports. Dr. Craig succeeded in developing a drug-testing program for the National Greyhound Association and that program is still in effect today. Along with his associates at OSU, Dr. Craig undertook comprehensive research proving scientifically that a procaine presence in greyhounds did not alter racing performance. Dr. Craig and his team were invited to Alaska to put together a drug-testing program for the Iditarod, similar to what was done for the NGA and was named chief of the program overseeing the Iditarod’s drug-testing for 25 years.
