Toby Asai Loftus

Toby Asai Loftus works in IT and has performed in the Newport Symphony for over fifteen years. He is a third generation Japanese American. His mother, Mitzi Asai Loftus and her entire family were unconstitutionally incarcerated for three years during WWII - except for four brothers who served in the US Armed Forces in the Pacific theater. Ms. Loftus was a 4th-6th grader during the incarceration. She is now 87, has written a memoir about her family's experience and has given talks for decades on this subject. Toby has assisted her in many talks as well as giving talks of his own. He recently made two trips to Japan with his mother about which he blogged extensively, including Japanese family
