This program, a partnership between Environmental Education Association of Illinois, Earth Force, Federal Emergency Management Agency Region 5, and the Association of State Floodplain Managers Foundation, engages students in exploring their local communities to identify real-world environmental issues and develop solutions and action plans for making their communities more resilient.

Theo Johnson is a graduate of Urbana High School in Urbana, Illinois, and a student at the University of Chicago. He served for two years on the Illinois State Board of Education Student Advisory Council, where he researched achievement gaps, tutoring, and the US Census. Fiona Munro

Fiona Munro is the Outreach and Education Coordinator for Sola Gratia Farm, a mission-based, not-for-profit urban vegetable farm located in Urbana, Illinois. She began as a volunteer on the farm and has been engaged in all aspects of its work, including in the field, at the market, and in the wider community. In her current role, she assists with administration of Solidarity Gardens CU, a collaborative initiative to support gardeners in producing fresh, local vegetables for themselves and others in the Champaign-Urbana community, and the C-U Farm to School project.
