After winning four stakes races at Churchill Downs over the holiday weekend, Brian Hernandez, Jr. was named Shuffle Bean Coffee Jockey of the Week for the week of November 21-27, 2016. The award is voted on by members of the Jockeys’ Guild, which represents more than 950 riders in North America. He will tell us how that holiday weekend must felt like and also give us a glimpse into his life. Pete Aiello

Pete Aiello left Oaklawn Park's racing analyst and Announcer job to become Gulfstream Park's Race Caller. He is a native of South Florida and a graduate of the University of Arizona Race Track Industry Program. Mr. Aiello was the track announcer at Hialeah Park and River Downs. He also has called the Quarter Horse meetings the last three years at Hialeah Park, a racetrack that was integral in Aiello’s introduction to racing as a youngster. Aiello got interested in announcing as a child growing up and playing a computer game that simulated races but did not have an announcer. He called his first full card of races while working as an intern at Finger Lakes in New York in 2006. He called races

Bringing together horses of all divisions from all parts of the country who changed barns when their original connections decided to drop them for a tag and saw them go to a new barn. The connections of these horses have steadily improved on their performances and now it is time to meet their new peers on the big stage in a series of stakes races.
