Our first guest, Ann Lescher, shares her story of how her job simply did not allow for any work-life balance. Our second guest, Melahni Ake, is a coach who specializes in personal growth and development. In the last segment of the show, we will take a deeper dive into the topic of personal growth to understand how truly beneficial this is to our recovery.

It will educate you on what causes burnout, how we fuel our own burnout, and how you can make simple changes each day to recover from it. Learn about the impact of unmanaged stress, nutrition to help you sleep and recover your energy, how to address the mental aspects of burnout, and finding ways to heal your spirit. This is a mind, body, and spirit recovery. The show will feature experts in various fields related to the burnout recovery process. Each show will contain takeaways for the listener to implement and make a positive change for their recovery.

Kelly Owens

Kelly is the author of the book Death By Cubicle-Recovery From Burnout Without Quitting Your Job. She is a personal empowerment coach, leadership development trainer, and speaker. Kelly has over thirty years of professional experience in for-profit and nonprofit organizations. She obtained her Master's Degree in Management with a concentration in Nonprofit Leadership. Her undergrad work was at Purdue University where she studied Sociology, Psychology, and Health and Wellness. Kelly is part of the Maxwell Leadership team and enjoys serving others with leadership training that promotes employee engagement and empowerment. During her professional career she has worked as an addictions counselor, in human resources, as a leader for a nonprofit housing program, and in the automotive industry as a supply chain manager. She has additional certifications in Neurolinguistic programming and as a DISC consultant. The one underlying theme in her varied background is that of serving others and working to empower individuals to improve their experiences on the job and in life. In her free time, she enjoys running, scuba diving, traveling, and time with family and friends. She and her husband Allen have three daughters and four grandchildren. Kelly also has a passion for her 1970 VW Type 2 camper van. She has named her van Janis after Janis Joplin. She and her husband are working on getting Janis ready for some upcoming travel and camping.
