Episode Description

Opportunity and accessibility for females to compete in competitive professional leagues are lower than men. Professionally the game of basketball is played by men in the NBA, and women in the WNBA. Is it an unfair comparison to expect WNBA players to generate as much revenue as the NBA? There's a significant wage gap between the WNBA players and their male counterparts in the NBA. WNBA players are paid 0.67 of what NBA players receive. Listen in to RIGHT CHOICES this Saturday from 11am to 12pm PST, as we discuss with individuals involved with basketball professionally, and the challenges to growing the game for women.

Detrick Wright

For nearly two decades I have been involved in sports and fitness coaching, training men, women and children. It is my passion, and desire to live a well-balanced life gained through my personal experiences, as well as the educational steps I took to further my knowledge. The tools I have gained have allowed me the success I have achieved as a personal trainer, and a youth coach. Now, I seek to expand upon that knowledge and give back to society on a broader scale. Understanding the connections from engagement in a physical lifestyle drives the desire to continue participation regardless of how old we are.

I hold a Master of Arts in Kinesiology with an emphasis in Sports Management as well as a Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology with a minor in Biology. My background and certifications include Functional Movement Screen (FMS), International Youth Coach Association (IYCA), experience as a USAA Weight lifting Club Coach, a personal trainer with the American Council on Exercise, an Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) and a United States Air Force Veteran.
