Celebrating Aging with a Positive Perspective
July 5, 2019
Hosted by Joseph M. Casciani
This week’s Living to 100 Show takes an in depth look at the myths of aging – and how ageist attitudes have fostered the negative stereotypes about growing older. What is ageism and why is it still so prevalent, and what can be done about it? Join us and our guest, Dr. Joaquin Anguera, noted gerontologist and educator, as we uncover the explanations for the negative perceptions about growing old. Older adults make up the fastest growing segment of our population, and we will soon be facing new questions about how our society can adapt to and benefit from this major shift in our demographics. What is successful aging, what is the “longevity revolution”, and why are we so fascinated with anti-aging products on the market today? Dr. Anguera will share his insights into the increasing numbers that we hear about on a daily basis and why we need to think about celebrating the aging process, and re-framing aging with a positive perspective.
