Episode Description

Welcome to Becoming Digitally Resilient with IDC Industry Thought Leadership. Today’s episode: Becoming Digitally Resilient in the Energy Industry – Rebuilding the Grid for Renewables. While recovery pace will vary across regions, by 2024, 80% of electric, gas and water companies will have implemented sustainable business models by accelerating digital transformation and re-architecting the core business. By 2025, 35% of energy utilities will drive at least 30% of their business via digital platforms based on cloud native technologies, fulfilling the evolving needs of customers and infrastructures. As renewables continue their continuous growth in the worlds’ electrical grids, the same grids must transform themselves to support the unique nature of the distributed energy resources. The IDC Energy Insights team’s John Villali and Leif Eriksen discuss what it takes to be a digitally resilient energy organization. Our spotlight on Becoming Digitally Resilient in the Energy Industry continues in the next podcast, followed by other industries. Stay tuned! We welcome your comments and questions.
