Zainab Salbi is the founder, president and CEO of Women for Women International (womenforwomen.org), a non-profit that provides women survivors of war, civil strife and other conflicts with tools and resources to move from crisis and poverty into self-sufficient and active citizens who promote and protect peace and stability. Herself a refugee of war, Salbi details life growing up in Saddam Hussein’s inner circle in her memoir, “Between Two Worlds: Escape from Tyranny: Growing up in the Shadow of Saddam”.
