Episode Description

Kathryn interviews Psychology Today blogger Peg O’Connor PhD, author of “Life on the Rocks: Finding Meaning in Addiction and Recovery”. This is the first book to address addiction and recovery from a Western philosophical perspective, offering a powerful set of tools sharpened over millennia. O’Connor draws upon the wisdom of philosophical tradition from Socrates, Plato and Aristotle, illuminating issues all addicts and their loved ones face. O’Connor is featured in The NY Times and Huffington Post.
Kathryn also interviews Huffington Post columnist and lecturer Carlynne McDonnell, author of “The Every Woman’s Guide to Equality: How Achieving Real Equality Will Change Women’s Lives Forever”. McDonnell has worked in fields considered non-traditional for women, and has personally seen and been on the receiving end of inappropriate and unequal behavior. McDonnell is the founder of Change In Our Lifetime, pushing men and women alike to make a strong commitment to real change for women.
