Lean Startup, also known as evidenced-based entrepreneurship, is the newer method for starting a business. Entrepreneurship expert Clint Day will share how this methodology compares with the traditional model of business planning for new ventures, and why lean startup doubles a business’s chances for success! Clint will discuss the Business Model Canvas -BMC-, the primary tool for lean startup that is used to model a new idea for a product or service. Finally, he’ll describe how an increasing number of large corporations are engaging the creativity and innovation from entrepreneurship to improve products and results -termed “intrapreneurship”-, using an approach called agile development. Hemda Mizrahi, Ed.M., M.A., is a Board Certified Coach who specializes in executive and leadership development. Using the tools she has gained from her training in mediation, image consulting, and as a certified wellness coach and licensed therapist, she partners with clients on issues related to career transition, lifestyle management, and performance. As an organizational effectiveness consultant, Hemda collaborates with businesses to address gaps in the employee and customer experience. Her coaching, consulting and radio talk show roles are informed by her managerial experience in healthcare and higher education, participation on advisory boards, and entrepreneurship expertise. Hemda earned Master’s degrees in Organizational and Counseling Psychology at Teachers College, Columbia University, and a Bachelor’s in Hospitality Management from Cornell University. She is certified in the research-based 360-degree feedback assessments developed by the Center for Creative Leadership.
