Episode Description

The buzz: “While developing his vacuum, James Dyson went through 5,126 failed prototypes ...But the 5,127th prototype worked...” (Evan Carmichael). Welcome to Part 2 for a deeper dive into prototyping in Design Thinking, which ensures ideas are tested and re-tested on a small scale to determine, “Did I understand what you want or need?” prior to a large investment. Designers, creators and innovators use prototyping styles and techniques to decide which ideas to carry forward, send for iterations, or blow up and start over again. The experts speak. Matt Gorbet, Gorbet Design: “It is not the answer that enlightens, but the question” (Eugene Ionesco). Gavin Quinn, Mindset: “A brilliant solution to the wrong problem can be worse than no solution at all: solve the correct problem” (Donald A. Norman). Anastasia Stauffenberg, SAP: “Prototyping is the conversation you have with your ideas” (Tom Wujec). Join us for Designing the Future: Role of Prototyping In Just About Everything – Part 2.
