Ron Paolucci, who started going to the races as a child got into racing with a $3,500 claiming horse and through his handicapping climbed up the claiming ladder, graduation to allowance and eventually stakes horses in the Ohio-bred program. Ron now plays the game at it's highest level and will be participating in the $16 million Pegasus Stakes with two horses. It's a complicated story as he may work out a lease agreement with the connections of Sharp Azteca and he will enter his own War Story, who finished fourth in the Breeders' Cup Classic. Ron Paolucci is an avid horseplayer from the Cleveland Ohio area who went from playing the horses to owning a Breeders' Cup winner. After watching her first two starts he purchased Ria Antonia privately. With only a maiden win under her belt, trainer Jeremiah Englehart put blinkers on her and new jockey Javier Castellano for the $2,000,000 Breeders' Cup Juvenile Fillies. Sent away at 32-1 she made a late run and was bumped by She's A Tiger nearing the wire and was placed first via disqualification. Pete Aiello

Pete Aiello left Oaklawn Park's racing analyst and Announcer job to become Gulfstream Park's Race Caller. He is a native of South Florida and a graduate of the University of Arizona Race Track Industry Program. Mr. Aiello was the track announcer at Hialeah Park and River Downs. He also has called the Quarter Horse meetings the last three years at Hialeah Park, a racetrack that was integral in Aiello’s introduction to racing as a youngster. Aiello got interested in announcing as a child growing up and playing a computer game that simulated races but did not have an announcer.
