Kathryn interviews Philadelphia Gay News Founder Mark Segal, author of “And Then I Danced: Traveling the Road to LGBT Equality”. On December 11, 1973 Segal disrupted the live broadcast of the CBS Evening News with Walter Cronkite by sitting on Cronkite’s desk yelling, “Gays protest CBS prejudice!” directly into the camera. This was watched live by 60% of American households, presenting many with their first concept of gay rights. 40 years later, Segal and his fiancé́ danced together at the White House to the Marine Corps band.
