Episode Description

In this episode of "Finding Certainty," join host Patrick Laing and Brian Barber, director of the nonprofit Mission Fish, as they delve into the critical work being done by Mission Fish to support veterans and their families throughout California, and beyond. With a focus on serving veterans and helping stem the unacceptable level of veteran suicides in our country, while also discussing the challenges of fundraising and meeting the immense needs within the veteran community, the duo offer insights into the vital role of organizations like Mission Fish, Certainty Management, and more. Tackling the sobering reality of veteran suicide rates in America, Laing and Barber discuss the urgent need for collective action. They shed light on the tireless efforts being made to combat this crisis and emphasize the importance of community involvement in providing support and resources. Through engaging dialogue and firsthand accounts, listeners gain a deeper understanding of the complexities facing veterans and the ways in which individuals and organizations can make a meaningful difference. Since both are fishermen, you’ll also gain insights into why fishing is the perfect vehicle to help veterans (and all of us) find purpose, peace, and comradery wherever we might be. Tune in to learn how we can all lend a hand in creating a brighter future for those who have served our country and how, together, we can make our communities and our nation a better place.
