Episode Description

We all love our children and we don’t want to see anything happen to them, it’s our parenting nature; but when we know our children have severe allergies or face bullying among peers it’s easy to become what experts call a “helicopter parent”. The term refers to a parent who hovers overhead to ensure their child is safe. This behavior by the parent could be just as hindering to the child as their allergies. It can also hurt your life as it consumes your every moment. Haleh Rabizdeh, a renowned parenting expert, has a child with severe allergies to foods. She is able to help parents first hand deal with the strain from her own experiences. Haleh will be discussing how to avoid being a helicopter parent by answering our questions and sharing her experience.
