This acclaimed author as well, also shares her experience of creating one of the most impactful teen programs in the US thru her vision of how to approach relevant teen issues delivered by teens in an art format. She was a commentator for ESPN for 10 years analyzing dance, was once a dance studio owner and owned a nationally renowned Dance Convention and Competition Tour for many years where she hired some of the hottest choreographers in LA. With this expertise from her own background, Tracie has had the opportunity to work with some of the top Choreographers and Teachers in LA in commercial dance, including Paula Abdul. Through these relationships, Tracie will be bringing experts LIVE to the show each week from Emmy Award Winners to choreographers for superstars such as Katy Perry, Taylor Swift, Pink, Miley Cyrus and much more!

Kennedy Brown



Kennedy Brown, born in Chesterton, Indiana, first began her dance training under the instruction of Tara Drew. Beginning her career as a competition dancer, Kennedy has won many regional and national titles including regional titles for Chicago at Nuvo and New York City Dance Alliance, and two national titles at Hall of Fame Dance Challenge and VIP. For the past 3 years, Kennedy has focused her training in ballet. She has attended summer programs at Ballet Magnificat in Jackson, Mississippi and Carreno Dance Festival in Sarasota, Florida. In 2013 Kennedy was awarded the bronze medal at the Youth American Grand Prix, and this past year was chosen as one of twelve dancers from the United States to compete in the International Ballet Competition in Jackson, Mississippi. In 2014, Kennedy moved to Phoenix, Arizona to train under Slawomir Wozniak at Master Ballet Academy. Currently a member of Slawomir Wozniak’s new pre-professional company, Phoneix Ballet, Kennedy recently returned from Beijing, China where the company premiered Francisco Gella’s, “Solstice”. Michele Brown



Michele Brown began her training in dance, gymnastics, and cheer at the age of six. After cheering in high school and college, she remained in the world of cheer and dance through her job selling uniforms for Cheerleader Dance Team and judging for NCA and NDA regional competitions. After settling down with her husband and children, she decided to put her own three daughters in dance. When their resident studio fell apart, Michele’ decided to bring the best instructors in Northwest Indiana to her daughters by opening her own studio, Eclipse Performing Arts. Now in it’s 7th year of business, Eclipse Performing Arts has been recognized on a regional and national level. It has been awarded countless national titles, and even recognized on national television. Michele’ is grateful for the doors her studio has been able to open for it’s students and her own children. I have 5 grand children of whom I live & breathe. Grew up dancing taking tap, ballet, jazz, baton, tumbling & dramatic acting. During my teen yrs I spent every second available in NYC & LA taking class. From Joe Tremaine to Gus Giordano to Luigi. Broadway was my jam for sure & to this day I love the song & dance. Attended SMU & received my BFA. Studied with the greats, Nakita Talin, Toni Beck, Bob Beard, David Kirby, Karen Kriete & Betty Ferguson. They all collectively turned me.... From princess to python. In a good way of course. Professionally, besides my job here at BTW for the past 12 years, I am also the owner/director of Kitty Carter’s Dance Factory for the past 30 years. 300 students M-Th (3:30- 10:30) & four non-professional companies that perform as well as compete locally/nationally. I serve as the technical coach/advisor for the Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders organization and CMT show “Making the Team” for the past 9 years as well as training candidates that will be auditioning each year. In spare time .... I’m a panel member of the great TACA organization, which extends their hand to so many new and existing arts in DFW. Winter weekends are spent mostly with family but also judging for competitions, teaching master classes in addition to visiting the east and west coast networking myself and for my dancers. NuLook was founded in 1996 and has been a great influence to many young people of Central Florida through dynamic dance productions, dance classes and inspiring workshops. Trinidad and Tobago born, Carol has achieved a distinctive career in the area of performing arts. Her accolades include NuLook gracing the cover of The Urban Jamm Convention publication; voted Community Leaders by Star 94.5 radio; a member of Who's Who Black Women's – Washington edition.; highlighted in the Mark II Dinner Theater publication for her works in the astounding play "Zarabi", and a full repertoire of her own. Carol started dancing at age 6 with the Les Enfant Dance Company under the leadership of Joyce Kirten. She was trained in Jazz, Ballet, Modern (Horton and Graham technique) and Caribbean folkloric. She traveled extensively with Les Enfant as she rose from dancer to lead and then to choreographer. She has been privileged to train with masters like Wilfred Mark, Peter London, Alvin Ailey American Dance Center, Martha Graham Center of Contemporary Dance, Astor Johnson, Noble Douglas to name a few. As a celebration of her work and choreography, Carol was awarded the "2009 Educator of the Year" - Co. Dance Convention. Carol's honesty and frankness to her students brings out the strength and passion that lies within her dancers. Marguerite Derricks



MARGUERITE DERRICKS is one of dance’s most recognized working choreographers today. She is the first and only choreographer to have received three consecutive Emmy Awards for Outstanding Choreography. Most recently Marguerite choreographed the new Off-Broadway musical HEATHERS (Lucille Lortel Nomination), the Emmy-nominated movie BEHIND THE CANDELABRA, HBO’s hit series TRUE BLOOD, and was the staff choreographer on ABC Family’s BUNHEADS. She also choreographed the Broadway production of WONDERLAND. In the world of film she has choreographed some of the most popular movies of the last 20 years. Tara Drew began dancing at age three at Ballet Mississippi, & continued her training at Ballet Magnificat School of the Arts. At fifteen, Tara was a semi-finalist in the 1994 USA International Ballet Competition. She received scholarships to ballet schools including Joffrey Ballet & Houston Ballet. As a young adult, she danced professionally with Ballet Magnificat, touring the US & Europe.Tara then moved to Atlanta, where she danced for the Atlanta Hawks Dance Team. She had the opportunity to dance at the NBA All Star Game & the TNT Celebrity Game as well as choreograph for the team. She took classes at Atlanta Ballet & taught at Impact Dance of Atlanta. She performed in many projects including the independent film "Petunia", Mak Attack Fitness Fashion Show, & an IBM Industrial show. Tara has a passion for training students in Ballet, Contemporary & Jazz. She has trained students for the Youth American Grand Prix & had the honor of taking one of her students to the finals in NYC. One of her students was recently accepted to compete in the 2014 International Ballet Competition. Her students are scholarship winners at many competitions/conventions such as NYC Dance Alliance, Hall of Fame, & VIP. She has had students accepted to many summer programs as the School of American Ballet, Miami City Ballet, Joffrey Ballet, Pacific Northwest Ballet, & the Carreño Dance Festival. Her students have gone on to dance professionally for Miami City Ballet, Ballet Magnificat, Phoenix Ballet, & the Atlanta Hawks Dance Team. Kim Farah



Ms. Farah is President and Executive Director of R.ED.I. Arts and Education Foundation, which produces the prevention theater show and program, STAND UP! Change Teen Statistics. Formerly Kimberly was CEO and Founder of Moves Dance Studio, Inc. and Co-Founder/Executive Producer of Standing O Productions. Kimberly Farah, As CEO and President, founded MOVES – A Dance and Fitness Studio in 1987. Her primary responsibilities included directing the company, inside and out to align with her vision and to strengthen and sustain it on all levels. This has included guiding the management team and employees to insure main objectives are met and that the company continued to grow and achieve its goals. Her role also included overseeing all internal and external components, including client, employee and community relations, maintaining and growing the business, marketing, fiscal oversight and management. Under her leadership the company grew from one rented location with 75 students to acquiring a building that now serves as the flagship location for Moves, establishing a residency program and adding a third location which all culminated into the company ranking in the top 10 percent in industry standards nationwide as she sold it in 2014. Ms. Farah has conceived and produced both national and regional events and conferences and served as a panelist for NIU College of Business, Woman Entrepreneurs. The span of her career in the performing arts has awarded her the Outstanding Contribution Award from the Illinois Arts Council and two nominations for the Governor’s Award for the Arts. She has authored the book, Embracing the Dream, lectured for Columbia College, Chicago, St. Mary’s College, Notre Dame, Indiana, and the Illinois Theater Festival. Cathi Feeny



Cathi Feeny has been training dancers for over 25 years. Cathi began dancing professionally after high school, including tours with an international cruise line. A native of the Toledo area, Cathi owned a very successful dance studio, The Cats Dance Squad, for ten years. She currently teaches and directs at Company C Dance Club in Toledo, as well as Magnificat High School in Cleveland, Ohio. Her choreography for all of these companies, as well as numerous others, have earned awards on regional and national levels, including Best Choreography, Outstanding Performance, Overall placements and National Grand Champion earnings. In addition to teaching and choreographing, Cathi is an exceptional costume designer and seamstress. A mid-western native, Jessica Jadron has been passionate about the performing arts since she began dancing at the age of three. Born and raised in a small suburb of Chicago, Illinois, she moved to Los Angeles to pursue the field that became an integral part of her identity and attended Loyola Marymount University. Her studies at Loyola earned her a Bachelor Degree of Fine Arts in Dance as well as Communication Studies. Following college, she was offered an opportunity to enter the Film and Television industry working at Jerry Bruckheimer Films. Eager to learn more about this industry and take on a new challenge, she accepted the chance to grow professionally within an established, fast-paced company. Jessica learned a great deal of skills through this position and gained a strong understanding for the rigorous world of entertainment. After a year in the film and television industry, her enduring interest for the performing arts brought her to Clear Talent Group. She is extremely grateful for the opportunity to merge her talents with her passion on a daily basis as a member of the Clear Talent Group team. Marcea Lane



Marcea Lane started her internationally known dancewear line just over 25 years ago. As a professional dancer, Marcea knows exactly what dancers and athletes are looking for in fashion. Being a leading manufacturer of active wear continues to put Marcea in the forefront of the dance industry. Today Marcea’s Costume Collection and Activewear line in its 23,000 square foot warehouse have numerous employees, including her energetic mother Gigi and brother Dale. Marcea’s dance career started at a very young age of four years old. Starting off in the small Iowa dance school, she received basic training enough to know that she wanted to be a professional dancer. With a stroke of good luck, her family moved to California. There she was crowned 1976 Miss Hemet (California), a role that forced her to acclimate quickly to a very public life. Marcea took dance classes at her local junior college, but her heart was also set on doing jazz. She planned a two-hour drive to Los Angeles to take classes at Joe Tremaine’s studio. Classes there were packed with over 75 people in each class. For over five years Marcea took class with Tremaine whenever possible; “I set out to be in his face”, says Marcea. Whatever she learned at Tremaine’s she passed on to her students at her own studio. Finally her break came, at a convention in Las Vegas; Marcea was called on stage to assist Joe Tremaine. She became his teaching assistant, which was a position she held for 17 years. In addition to working side by side with one of the jazz greats, Marcea took the dance industry by storm with working with some of Hollywood’s biggest stars: Barbra Streisand, Sting, Janet Jackson, Natalie Cole, Prince and the king of pop himself, Michael Jackson. To date, working on Michael Jackson’s music video “Thriller” stands out as her most memorable project. View Guest page

Robin Mack



Robin Chapman Mack is the owner, director, and choreographer for Studio M dance in Rockwall, Tx, and also teaches for her aunt Kitty Carter in Dallas. Having taught for 30 at Kitty Carter’s Dance Factory in Dallas, Texas, Robin gained the knowledge and experience, needed to branch out on her own, and open Studio M in 2006. Robin, since the age of two and a half, grew up under the instruction of her aunt Kitty, training, performing, and competing until the age of eighteen, when Robin began teaching classes of her own. At the age of twenty, Robin was selected to go on a six week dance tour across the United States, in which she had the chance to study with and be mentored by such greats as Thommie Walsh who originated the role of “Bobby” in the original “A chorus Line” on Broadway, and Scott Benson, who was in the Michael Jackson video “Smooth Criminal”, just to name one of his many credits. Robin teaches hip-hop, lyrical, jazz, and tap. Robin’s style is edgy, and innovative, with an emphasis on being unique, while at the same time being age-appropriate for her students. Her classes are energetic, and fun, while remaining structured, and challenging. She believes in showing respect for your teacher, and fellow classmates, at all times, in order to enjoy the process. Rumer Noel



Rumer Noel was born and raised in Dallas, Texas and started dancing at a very early age. She grew up dancing at her Great Aunt, Kitty Carter’s studio, Kitty Carter’s Dance Factory. While at the studio, Rumer traveled and assisted Nick Florez on various Co. Dance, dance conventions, and was able to start teaching and choreographing at an early age. Rumer was making her mark as a young dancer. Once Rumer graduated high school in 2010, she went on to become a dance major at the University of Arizona. Rumer was able to graduate from UofA in three years with honors and a BFA. Now, Rumer is currently living in Los Angeles and has already had the opportunity to work with choreographers such as Nick Florez, RJ Durell, Kenny Ortega, Travis Payne, and Todrick Hall along with amazing talents such as Katy Perry, Jon Secada, and K.Michelle- just to name a few. Judy Rice



Judy Rice is a graduate of the National Ballet School of Canada and has performed extensively across the U.S. and Canada including the Joffrey Ballet, the National Tap Dance Company of Canada and American Ballet Comedy. She has 20 years experience teaching for regional companies and festivals as well as Co. Dance, 24/7,DMA, DEA, CNADM, SADM, The Joffrey Ballet School, The Joffrey Ballet, Steps and the Dance Teacher Magazine Summer Conference. Rice has been a judge for ADA, HEADLINERS and has been on the faculty for Dance Masters Teacher Training School and CNADM training school. She was a contributing writer to GOLDRUSH magazine. In May of 2000, Rice co-founded Behind Barres with pianist Paul Lewis and producer Rob Martens and to date they have produced 11 albums of ballet class music, which was featured on ABC’s hit show Lost, and have released 7 educational DVD’s. Katie Schaar has over a decade of experience as a Los Angeles-based professional dancer and choreographer. She grew up in Dallas, TX and moved to Los Angeles to attend Loyola Marymount University, where she earned a BA in Communications Studies and Dance and graduated as Valedictorian of the School of Communications and Fine Arts. From a young age, Katie was recognized for her versatility as a dancer, her collaborative spirit, her intellect, and her strong teaching ability; and she began working as an assistant choreographer to the industry’s most respected choreographers. Tyne Stecklein grew up dancing in Aurora, Colorado. Her dance career began with the High School Musical Concert Tour when she had just turned 18. After that she danced in HSM 2 as well as the movies Stepbrothers, Curious Case of Benjamin Buttons, 17 Again, Fame, The Campaign, Rock Of Ages, A Glimpse Inside the mind of Charles Swan III, and Behind the Candelabra. Some of her TV credits include the Rose Bowl Parade, Grammy Awards, Academy Awards, American Music Awards, Glee, Castle, Wizards of Waverly Place, CSI, Bones, and Shake It Up. In addition, Tyne danced in Evolution Dance Company directed by Mark Meismer, and Soul Escape Dance Co directed by Justin Giles. She also danced for Cher in her show at Caesar's Palace, and Michael Jackson in what would have been his last tour in London. Her wonderful experience rehearsing with MJ, lead to the making of "This Is It", in which Tyne was a lead dancer. Tyne had acting roles in the films Burlesque, No Strings Attached, and Dance-Off. She has worked in many commercials including Adidas, Old Navy, Dasani, Microsoft Tablet, Southwest airlines, and Ford. Erika Wojkiewicz was raised in Toledo, OH & began her dance training at Daryl Jervis Dance Studios where she competed in many dance competitions, earned scholarships to EDGE Performing Arts Center, Broadway Dance Center and Alvin Ailey, and performed internationally.
