Effective leadership of any meaningful endeavor requires the ability to promote the value and potential of the people involved. Yet when leaders, who agree with this important leadership responsibility, are asked how they accomplish this, answers are at best vague. In this edition of the SURVE Hour, host Jim Blackburn and special guest Rebecca Bagley, Vice Chancellor of Economic Partnerships at the University of Pittsburgh, will share their unique insights on this important topic as well as discuss some counterintuitive ideas on how to better pre-qualify, hire, develop and retain high growth and talented knowledge workers. This conversation should be of special interest to all leaders, but most importantly to the business leaders who are frustrated more than they care to admit with chronic under-performing employees as well as the inability to retain the high achievers they so greatly value.

Jim is a graduate of Kent State University and has completed Post-Graduate Studies at The Harvard Business School and The American College. He has also served as an Adjunct Professor at the U. of Iowa and UNC Business Schools.
